Due to Ian's surgery coupled with the fact that he was getting "saddle sores," the Pony had to go back to the stable for some adjustments and also to avoid the frustration of seeing it all the time and not being able to use it. After several different attempts, our wonderful therapists let us bring it home again and Ian was thrilled! Not only that, but they let us have a chair that is just his size and supports him for eating, playing, school, and is much more appropriate than his current wheelchair. (We are still waiting on his custom wheelchair - long, long, very frustrating story!)
This chair allows him to be much closer to the floor and thus, to Jack and I'm not sure which one was most happy about that.
Ian eating crackers, apples and string cheese completely by himself! (We have to do this while Dad is gone because he just can't stand the mess......yet.) Anything that allows Ian to feel more independent is incredibly important to him! We take so much for granted.
This is an older picture of the Pony but the kid has something about opening and shutting drawers! He'll do it as long as I let him.
