We made a quick trip to Memphis this weekend for Olivia's first birthday party and she gave us much cause for being thankful we made the trip (not that we even considered missing it.) Her birthday isn't until April 21, but this was the best weekend for her daddy's crazy schedule.
Apparently, all little girls in the south wear tutus on their first birthday, so Lindsay made her a pink one (of course) and appliqued a pink gingham "O" on her shirt. She looked adorable and didn't let the tutu get in her way of crawling, climbing, standing or even taking a few steps! It was very difficult to narrow down the pictures but here are a few from the party.
Sweet birthday girl (with her ever-present drink)
Olivia loves her doggies! (and, her Daddy of course!)
The pile of presents looked like something that should be climbed
Reading a new book (the girl loves books and being read to!)
The shoes didn't last long
Checking out the new Raggedy Ann
Of course, we HAD to get her a horse!
Pushing her new stroller and baby
After a nap, the birthday girl was ready for Memphis bar-b-que. Yum!
She loves it!
The adoring fans!!
Adorable....even with bar-b-que sauce all over her face!
Lucy and Gus, wishing they could get in on the bar-b-que (notice their scarves that match Olivia's "O" on her shirt.)
Famous Muddy's cupcakes - Yum, Yum!!
Singing "Happy Birthday" and grabbing for the candle
Let the cupcake demolition begin....
She did a pretty good job of cleaning it all up, even licking the plate!
Thank you, Olivia, for inviting us to your party and for all your sweet smiles and hugs and giggles. We love you so very much and are so thankful you are our grandaughter!!
