Christmas 2014

As usual, I get so wrapped up in the festivities that I don't take many pictures and the ones I do take aren't good. Nevertheless, here is a snapshot of our Christmas.
My favorite part of Christmas decorating is hanging all these stockings and if you don't already know it, we will need space for another one next year!!!! Drew and Elizabeth are expecting their 4th in July! Woohoo!!!!!

Only my dad, aka "Pa," could come up with such unique ways to dispense money. It was inside the balloons and the boys had to figure out how to get it out.

Ian LOVES his new sports car book and head lamp. When he makes the trek to the bus every morning at 6:50 a.m., he tries to hold a flashlight and drive at the same time (with the same hand) so the head lamp is going to be a huge help!
Lucas says Army guys are serious and can't smile for pictures.
We were BLESSED to have all the kids together on the 27th for our family Christmas and it was SO MUCH FUN!!! We started out with breakfast and the little girls got their own table. (I did not serve pop tarts and cereal to the entire family but it's what they wanted and when they are at Grammy's house........you know the rest!)
 The rest of the clan
 Checking out the stocking loot

It was a Frozen kind of Christmas
Ethan, with a bracelet on his head
Jeremy is reading a poem for he and Lucas and Ian
I'm not sure who was more excited about the train table.....Drew or his kids!
 Olivia and Olaf
Taking a break and watching Frozen
 Matching Frozen blankets
Our attempt at a family picture
We were blessed to have Mom-mom and Dad-dad stay a couple extra days

Although I did a terrible job of getting pictures of everyone, we are so very thankful that we were able to celebrate with our parents, granmother, children and grandchildren.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!!

Thanksiving in Memphis

Olivia says she is the Princess so I told her I am the Queen! She helped me dress appropriately.

Ethan decided to get away from the chaos for a little alone time.
O givng E a "horsey ride"
Weather was beautiful so we took advantage and helped rake some leaves. Actually, Tom and Jeremy helped Troy while Lucas searched for treasures, Ian drove around and Grammy played with the little ones.
What, exactly, is supposed to be fun about these leaves?
Olivia got a couple jumps in before they were all bagged up.
Big helper
Productive morning
This is Ethan, running around the cove while Grammy chased after him.
O was hard at work, too!
Pops, taking a break to smooch those sweet cheeks!
The Gang, sans Ian
Grammy trying to get E to be still long enough for a picture
O transporting E
The hotel had a pool that was warmer than bathwater so we took advantage every day we were there.

Water Wars

On Sat night, we went to the Memphis Zoo to see the lights
Can you see the snow falling? Although it was 62 degrees, they actually made snow!
Ethan trying to get to the cows
Lucas and Olivia feeding a goat
 Tunnel of Lights
 Carousel Ride
 Robersons
 The Kiddos
 Ian, meeting the Panda
And, because we don't know if/when/where we will see O and E at Christmas and because some elves had already been shopping, we brought Ethan his biggest gift! He immediately climbed right in it like he was the King!

Thank you, Lindsay and Troy, for allowing us to invade your home and play with your children!
We are so blessed and thankful for all of our family!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Humphrey Halloween Dinner

We love living in the country but one disadvantage is that we don't get any little ghosts or goblins knocking on our door, asking for treats. And since we don't need mountains of candy around here and for various other reasons, we don't go trick-or-treating either. So, I decided to surprise the boys with a disgusting Halloween Menu for dinner tonight:

 Apple Teeth
 Severed Fingers
 Mummy Dogs
 Dried Bloody Scabs
 Dragon Eggs
Complete with candlelight and Vampire Blood Punch
The boys loved it and we had a blast, eating in the dark and convincing them we heard noises and saw glowing eyes from around the house.
Happy Halloween!
